In Ulster County, the state Department of Health was reporting that there were 39 newly confirmed cases, with 13 in Sullivan County in the past 24 hours as the second wave of the virus sweeps through the Hudson Valley.
There are now 1,476 active COVID-19 cases in Ulster on Tuesday, Dec. 8, up from 835 on Friday, Dec. 4, with 123 in Sullivan, down from 137.
A total of 165,429 COVID-19 tests have been administered in Ulster since March, resulting in a total of 4,114 positive cases. Health officials in Sullivan have seen 2,217 confirmed cases out of 52,572 tests.
There were six new COVID-19 deaths in Ulster, bringing the death toll to 107. The first new virus-related death was reported in several weeks in Sullivan, bringing the total to 52 since the pandemic began.

There have been no reported cases in Hardenburg.
Specific data about Sullivan County municipalities was not available on Dec. 8.
Statewide, there have been a total of 20.75 million COVID-19 tests administered, with 713,129 New Yorkers testing positive for the virus. Since March, there have been a total of 27,232 COVID-19-related deaths.
